“Things are fine – they still maintain a great working relationship and he’s in her life as a great friend as he’s always been,” a close source tells People.

Contrary to recent reports that the two ended their romance because she was moving too fast, the pair continue their relationship, the source claims.

“Jason did not break up with Britney. That’s totally false.”

Jason Trawick and Britney Spears are very much an item.

So while they are not exactly headed for the altar – despite the engagement ring Britney wears sometimes – the pair have great respect for one another.

“Things are casual … Britney really listens to what he has to say. He’s been with her a long time, he gets along with the family,” says the source.

“[Jason Trawick] has her best interests at heart, and he cares about her.”

Kate Gosselin’s marriage may be in divorce court, her clothing line sacked and her cookbook shelved. But her star power hasn’t entirely eroded yet. She’s been invited by Maria Shriver to the Annual Women’s Conference.

The nation’s “premiere forum” for women promotes “empowerment, inspiration and education,” helping them become “architects for change.” Also on the list for the October event in Sacramento, Calif.? Katie Couric, Kelly Preston, Cindy McCain, Elizabeth Edwards and Madeleine Albright.

An inspirational architect for change like Kate should fit right in.

California’s first lady said it wasn’t even her idea to invite the mom of eight to attend. Nor was it her husband, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s. Maria Shriver said that the couple’s teenage daughters, who are fans of Jon & Kate Plus 8, suggested she ask the TLC star to come to the event. Also noteworthy is that the invites were sent out five months ago, before the family was regularly splashed across celebrity gossip tabloids.

Hey, at least Kate Gosselin and Elizabeth Edwards can share notes on their respective home wreckers, Deanna Hummel and Rielle Hunter.

They may have filed for divorce, but Jon and Kate Gosselin have made good on their pledge to focus on their children, reuniting for a Fourth of July picnic.

At their home in Wernersville, Pa., the family played volleyball and picked blueberries for a cake Kate was baking, while Jon was seen lighting sparklers.

Fortunately, Cara, Mady, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel were all seemingly able to escape injury … and a Kate Gosselin spanking.

The event had been planned, as the stars of TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8 agreed a few weeks ago to fulfill their contractual obligations and act like they can tolerate each other set aside their differences for the national holiday.

How wonderful – and not shocking – to see them reunite. Since Kate’s book and clothing line have recently been sacked, the show’s all she’s got left.

“Jon pointed to the July 4 holiday and said, ‘What are we going to do about that?’” Kate Gosselin recently told People. “I absolutely cannot imagine not spending every single holiday with my kids. I don’t care what it takes. I will be there.”

Michael Jackson fans will get a chance to say goodbye to the King of Pop at a public memorial service to be held at L.A.’s Staples Center on Tuesday.

Tickets will be available to the general public and will be free of charge.

Fans from around the world are expected to fly to Los Angeles to say farewell to Jackson, who died at 50 after suffering cardiac arrest on June 25.

Jackson’s final rehearsal took place at Staples, where he was prepping for his London tour, sponsored by AEG Live (which owns Staples Center).

Preliminary details of the funeral service are as follows:

• The main event will be at the Staples Center and will be simulcast at the adjacent Nokia Theatre in the same complex throughout.
• There is a lottery set up to obtain tickets. You can sign up on the Staples Center website, if it’s not crashed by the time you do.
• 17,500 tickets are available for the event – 11,000 for Staples and 6,500 for Nokia – a maximum of two per person is allowed.
• If you are one of the 8,750 people selected, you will be given further instructions Sunday. Sounds Mission: Impossible-like.
• Only U.S. citizens can apply for tickets to Jackson’s funeral.
• Still unclear is whether Jackson’s body will be there.

Last night, he sang a similar tune, declaring himself too rich to sit around in the Costa Rican jungle with the likes of Sanjaya Malakar any longer.

As we reported yesterday, Spencer and wife Heidi Montag Pratt fled “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!” after just two episodes of the NBC show.

“I feel like I’m an all-star player playing with a bunch of Bad News Bears,” Pratt said, undergoing a farewell baptism at the hands of Stephen Baldwin.

“As much as Speidi is going to miss all of you,” he continued in the third person, “That challenge just proved to us we do not have what it takes.”

So it’s all over for Spencer and Heidi, right? Not so fast.

While on-set sources say the pair of Speidi meltdowns on the season premiere were as legit as can be presumed with them, we may not have seen the last of The Hills gruesome twosome’s latest reality TV venture.

According to E! News, the Pratts did leave the Costa Rican jungle set, but they have scrapped plans – if there ever were any – to fly back to L.A.

If NBC will have them, they are planning a dramatic return tonight.

“The devil fooled Speidi in to making an awful decision and we are praying to Jesus for NBC to give us another shot to redeem,” Spencer Tweeted.

Kris Allen spent May 29 at Disneyworld, serenading Minnie Mouse and putting on a performance for thousands of fans in attendance.

Regarding his victory, the season eight champion told the adoring public: “It feels good, but it hasn’t completely sunk in yet.”
