Cameron Diaz is keen on following in the footsteps of B Town’s Sushmita Sen and H’wood’s Angelina Jolie by… adopting a few children herself!

Reportedly, Diaz is all set to zoom into India for a week, and the hurricane hush hush tour will also include a trip to Delhi.

A close Diaz source states, “Cameron loves everything about India…the cuisine, the culture and the warmth of the people. The history of Delhi has a big draw for Cameron and she will make a quiet visit with an entourage of body guards.”

On a more significant note, Diaz will extend an altruistic hand to India’s poor kids, and if luck has it, adopt one herself.

Declares the source, “Cameron has been deeply saddened by the stories of child trafficking and child labour in India. Even if she does not end up adopting an Indian child, she plans to do her bit of philanthrophy for the needy children of India.”

A photo of director Mudassar Aziz carrying Sushmita Sen on his shoulders during the Caribbean shoot of their film “Dulha Mil Gaya” has been splashed all over the Internet, creating much buzz. Though it looks like a romantic episode, the reality is completely different.

The crew had specially created a ramp that extended into the Caribbean Sea for a shoot, along with a 50-metre walkway and it apparently got washed away by a storm. While the ramp was made again, recreating the walkway would have delayed the shoot due to which the cast and crew had to wade through waters till the ramp.

“Due to her costumes and make-up, she (Sushmita) wasn’t expected to traverse the sea on foot to reach the ramp,” producer Viveck Vaswani told IANS.

She would have made some reasonable comments like ‘can’t shoot’, ‘too difficult’ or ‘make a walkway’ and that wouldn’t have even constituted as starry tantrums. However, all credit to her professionalism, she was sport enough to be carried on Mudassar’s shoulders. The two being good friends further eased the situation,” he said.

The fact is that it wasn’t just Sushmita who was transported in a similar fashion.

“Though a picture of Sushmita being carried by Mudassar is being splashed all over, making it look like a romantic episode, the fact remains that the young director with help from other crew members was also carrying sensitive filming equipments. This is not all as the art director, who is a senior lady and had hurt her back, was also being ferried in a similar way,” said a source from the crew.

All this pain had to be taken by the crew to shoot the film’s title sequence featuring Sushmita on the specially created ramp.

“We did recreate the ramp but for the walkway we had two choices. Either construct it and hence delay the shoot by at least a day or somehow think innovative and reach the ramp for the shoot. We opted for the latter though the process had to be repeated not just for Sushmita but others as well,” said Vaswani.

While Sushmita refuses to react to rumours, Mudassar says it is easy to sensationalise things.

“I really don’t have much to react on something as frivolous as this. There are so many beautiful moments attached with ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ and something like this hardly deserves more attention and focus,” Sushmita told IANS.

Mudassar said: “It is easy to sensationalise a simple picture. However, the sheer hard work and sweat that goes into taking a simple shot is something that only those people can explain who have gone through the entire tribulation.”

Releasing Jan 8, “Dulha Mil Gaya” also stars Fardeen Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in a pivotal role along with new find Mohit Chadha.

Sushmita Sen got a rare gift from her boyfriend and filmmaker Mudassar Aziz after he gifted the actress a DVD that captures her various moods. The DVD has been shot during the making of the film DULHA MIL GAYA and has been personally edited by the filmmaker.

Agra, Agra Mayor Anjula Singh Mahaur will walk the ramp along with actors Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen at a fashion show in New Delhi Oct 24. She is excited about it and says it will be a completely new experience for her.

Talking to IANS Mahaur said, “This would perhaps be the first time that a mayor of a city would be doing that.”

Mahaur’s two daughters – Sona, 16 and Tanishka, 9 – will also walk with her, while Sushmita will sashay down the ramp with her daughter Renee.

“I am excited and so is my daughter Tanishka who is dying to meet Salman Khan. I personally admire Sushmita. It will be a completely new experience for me,” said Mahaur.

“So far I have been busy with politics but now I am trying to develop interest in other fields too. Of late, I have been doing some anchoring for a TV channel and judging talent hunt programmes. A film role has also been offered in ‘Abhilasha’,” she added.

Two years ago when Taj Mahal made it to the new seven wonders of the world, Mahaur went to Lisbon to receive the prestigious award.

She had no release in 2008 and this year she featured in two duds — “Karma, Confessions and Holi” and “Do Knot Disturb”, but beauty queen-turned-actress Sushmita Sen insists her absence from the limelight has been due to her busy schedule courtesy her ventures.

“I am basically a very busy person. I am just the sort of person who is constantly delving into different things and wetting my palms to see what all interests me and I have been mostly outside the country shooting for my films,” said Sushmita.

“I have also been keeping busy with the dubs and promotion of my films. I have also been working around my other companies so that I could have a very fulfilling year,” she added.
